Former DOTA 2 Pro Player Xepher Joins Alter Ego Mobile Legends
November 13, 2024
Another former DOTA 2 pro player has transitioned to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Kenny βXepherβ Deo, a former support player for T1 DOTA 2, has officially joined Alter Ego Mobile Legends. The announcement was made via the teamβs official social media accounts on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
New Alter Ego Coach for MPL ID Season 15
Xepher will join Alter Ego as their new coach, replacing Aldo. He is set to begin his coaching career with Alter Ego at the start of MPL ID Season 15. This coaching change comes after a lackluster performance by Alter Ego in 2024, where the team finished at the bottom of the MPL Indonesia standings: 8th place in MPL ID Season 13 and 5th/6th place in MPL ID Season 14.
DOTA 2 Players Moving to Mobile Legends
Xepher is not the first DOTA 2 player to switch to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Several other players, such as R7, Facehuger, and Acil, have successfully transitioned as professional players. Additionally, names like SaintDeLucaz, Nafari, and Khezcute have thrived as coaches in MPL Indonesiaβs Mobile Legends scene. Time will tell if Xepher can surpass the achievements of these predecessors in the Mobile Legends esports scene.
Xepherβs DOTA 2 Career Highlights
Xepher is a well-known DOTA 2 player specializing in the support role. He began his esports journey in 2015 with RRQ and went on to play for several prominent teams, including Geek Fam, T1, BOOM Esports, and Leviatan. One of his career highlights was finishing in the top 7/8 at The International 2021 with T1. The International 2021, DOTA 2βs largest annual tournament, featured a staggering prize pool of over $40 million (approximately IDR 620 billion).
